10/15/2023 0 Comments Fort bonifacio global city attractions![]() It might have been that I experienced the hype 2 years too late when everything was still shimmering in it's grand opening, but I found it dirty for a location like Bonifacio High street. ![]() So expectations and ideals have been made. Since seeing this flea market on founder's Anthony Diaz's blog,, I've been wanting to visit it myself for sometime now. But we arrived at around 8pm and it was already 70% full, it got busier around 9pm.Īmbiance: Like a market with lots of smoke. Thought we would have to wait awhile because websites said they'd be open between 10pm and so on. Went there on a Friday evening, by taxi and was somewhat lost before we found the venue. Place/Time: Located behind a field near Bonifacio High Street. This is a fun market to visit during the weekend and a welcome change from the usual dining in the city.Īt the time of our visit Mercato Centrale was open on Saturdays and Sundays 7am to 2pm. Dining is quite casual and mess-hall style, with food served in take-out boxes. You can dine inside or outside the main tent although it can be difficult to get a table inside especially during the hot days of summer. The bagnet (thin crispy lechon strips) seemed popular here and is probably worth trying if you are okay to eat crispy fat. The mochi ice cream (PHP70) was okay although with a chunky base. We particularly liked the roasted USDA angus beef with mashed potatoes (PHP150) which we thought was very good value for money, tried the lechon tortilla (PHP150, lechon is roasted pig) which tasted better than it looked, and picked up a few yummy cupcakes (PHP40 each) and a couple of homemade salad dressings. This is a lively food bazaar with a wide variety of meal options (breakfast, lunch, or dessert) in all manner of preparations (fried, grilled, pre-cooked etc) and a good place for grabbing some foodstuffs for home or gifts for family and friends. ![]()
